MUSIC AT MISSION LUTHERAN

Music is an important part of our worship and the life of Mission Lutheran Church. Music elevates our worship and reinforces the spoken word. We have musical groups that help lead worship, but many parts of our worship are participatory, meaning it is everyone’s job to “make a joyful noise”. We invite one and all to join one of our music groups! No experience is necessary and all skill levels are welcome. Learning music for worship is what we do, but having fun as we learn is how we do it!

CHANCEL CHOIR

Meets Thursday evenings at 7:00 to 8:30 pm

The Chancel Choir participates in worship several Sundays a month (September through May), but also provides special music at other special times of the year, such as a cantata for Christmas and on Good Friday. We are a small group right now and would love to have more people join us. We also have several other small groups (trios & quartets) that provide special music throughout the year.

PRAISE RINGERS

Meets Monday evenings at 7:00 to 8:30 pm

Our bell choir has a great time making a joyful noise! We participate in worship about once a month, but also for other special services during the year, such as Christmas Eve. We have 4 octaves of Malmark Bells as well as 3 octaves of Malmark chimes.

KIDS OF THE KINGDOM (KOK)

Meets Wednesday afternoons 4:00 to 5 pm

KOK is open to children from 5 years old to 5th grade. In addition to learning songs for participation in worship, we also spend time learning about music and becoming better musicians. We occasionally sing with the Chancel Choir or one of the small groups.
